Canacona, 30/05/2025 – The Lokkalp Foundation hosted its annual Social Felicitation Ceremony on May 30, 2025, in Canacona, to recognize individuals dedicated to selfless community service.
The event was attended by members of the local community and staff from the Lokmanya Society. Speakers highlighted the importance of social responsibility and the transformative impact of community service in creating a just and compassionate society.
Among the honorees were:
Shri Sairu Komarpant, who served the State Bank of India for 37 years and was the Assistant Branch Manager at Lokmanya Society, Canacona, for a decade. He has received numerous awards, including the Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar (2013), Seva Puraskar (2009), Dalgado Puraskar (2019), and Best Social Worker (2018).
Shri Kamlakar Mhalshi, a teacher for over 37 years, who also served as Assistant Secretary of the Konkani Academy for a decade. He was a founding Chairman, Cluster Resource Person for 5 years, and an accomplished Konkani author.
Both honorees shared inspiring insights on the value of social service, emphasizing the need to support the underprivileged and promote education.
The event concluded on an uplifting note, underlining the belief that community involvement is essential for sustainable development and societal harmony.
