Sawantwadi, March 17, 2026:
A free eye check-up camp aimed at promoting community health and raising awareness about eye care services was successfully conducted at Vetye in Sawantwadi taluka on Tuesday.

The camp was jointly organized by Lok Kalp Foundation, Lokmanya Multipurpose Society, and Matoshri Sevadham Arogya Seva Trust (MAST), with valuable support from Vetye Gram Panchayat and Shri Dev Kaleshwar Mahila Gramsangh. The initiative received an enthusiastic response from local residents.

A total of 70 individuals underwent eye examinations during the camp. To ensure affordability, spectacles were provided at a concessional rate of ₹180, and 40 beneficiaries received spectacles.

District Council Member Vikrant Sawant, Panchayat Samiti Member Jitendra Gavkar, Sarpanch Gunaji Gavde, and Nitesha Naik were present on the occasion.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ketan Soni, the medical team from Matoshri Sevadham Arogya Seva Trust rendered dedicated services throughout the day. The team was supported by Sunil Mulik, Jaywant Mulik, and Uttej Parab.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all contributors, especially members of the Gram Panchayat, Shri Dev Kaleshwar Mahila Gramsangh, and staff of Lokmanya Multipurpose Society. Special appreciation was extended to Gouri Juvekar (CSR Assistant) and Swarajya Patil (Assistant Branch Manager) for their notable contributions.

The camp played a significant role in raising awareness about eye health and proved highly beneficial to the local community.
