Sal, Goa – September 18, 2025:
Lok Kalp Foundation, the CSR wing of Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society, organized a comprehensive Free Eye Check-up Camp in collaboration with Matoshree Sevadham Arogya Seva Trust, Mumbai, and a General Health Check-up Camp in partnership with the Voluntary Health Association of Goa (VHAG). The initiative was held in Sal village, Goa, and marked a meaningful milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing mission to uplift the health and well-being of underserved communities.

The eye camp, conducted by a team of skilled ophthalmologists and volunteers from Matoshree Sevadham Arogya Seva Trust, provided free vision screening, cataract detection, and consultations to villagers. One of the most impactful outcomes of the camp was the distribution of eyeglasses to those diagnosed with vision impairments.

In parallel, the general health camp—organized with the support of VHAG—offered essential medical screenings in their mobility van including blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening, and basic health assessments. The camp aimed to promote early detection of common health issues and raise awareness about preventive care. Medical professionals provided personalized consultations and health advice, ensuring that villagers left with both knowledge and actionable steps toward better health.

The dual-camp initiative saw enthusiastic participation from the local community, with over 200 villagers availing themselves of the free services. Many attendees shared that this was their first opportunity to receive professional medical attention, and expressed deep gratitude for the care and support provided.

Residents of Sal village were visibly moved by the initiative. Several beneficiaries noted how the eyeglasses had already made a difference in their daily routines, while others appreciated the opportunity to understand their health status through VHAG’s screenings.

Lok Kalp Foundation continues to create sustainable impact in the lives of rural citizens by making healthcare accessible and affordable with a focus on health, education, and livelihood. This camp is part of a broader CSR strategy to build healthier villages and empower individuals through collaborative efforts and compassionate outreach.
