Eye check-up camp was successfully organized on the occasion of Mahashivratri at the Shri Dev Rameshwar Devasthan Temple in Akeri. The initiative was jointly conducted by Lokkalp Foundation, Lokmanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Matoshree Sevadham Arogya Seva Trust (Mumbai), and the Shri Rameshwar Devasthan Local Committee.

The camp was organized in the backdrop of the traditional chariot festival held on Tuesday, February 17, during the Mahashivratri celebrations. The initiative of providing healthcare services during such a significant spiritual festival was widely appreciated by devotees and dignitaries.

MLA Nilesh Rane visited the camp and lauded the organizers for conducting a meaningful social activity during a religious gathering. He termed the initiative commendable and assured full cooperation for continuing such welfare activities in the future. He also extended his best wishes for the success of similar initiatives.

Around 170 eligible individuals underwent eye examinations during the camp. Spectacles were provided to patients at highly affordable rates. A special facility was arranged to provide glasses immediately at a nominal cost of Rs. 180, which received positive response and appreciation from the devotees attending the festival.

Among those present were members of the Shri Rameshwar Devasthan Committee, former Akeri Sarpanch Rajan Bhagat, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Agre, Zilla Parishad member Pritesh Raul, and representatives of Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Society including Prathamesh Patkar, Gauri Juvekar, Dinesh Nanche, Yogesh Naik, Dr. Ketan Soni, Sunil Mulik, Jaywant Mulik, Deepesh Raul and others.

The eye check-up camp emerged as a fine example of combining spiritual celebration with social responsibility, ensuring that devotees not only participated in religious festivities but also benefited from essential healthcare services.
