About Lokkalp
To create big progress in the lives of the individuals of the villages
Lokmanya multipurpose co-op society was formed in 1995 under the dynamic leadership of Shri Kiran Baburao Thakur along with his like minded associates. The main motto was to provide financial help to budding entrepreneurs, homemakers to start their own businesses and to give employment to local citizens.
When Lokmanya society became multi state and expanded its horizon, we started our branches in the state of Goa. Our chairman Shri Kiran Thakur frequently travels to Goa via Chorla ghats which fall in the western parts of Khanapur Taluka in Belgaum District. During one of the visits he had an opportunity to interact with young girl students of Jamboti where he realized the need of giving basic education to these school children. Since it is a remote jungle area, not a single pre University College was established here. So he started the Baburao Thakur junior college of arts and commerce in Jamboti, in the year 2010.
After regular interactions with these students he thought of providing employment and business opportunities and the idea of adopting these villages clicked his mind.
